Venice & Portofino

From Rome, La Dolce Vita Orient Express travels north towards the Ligurian coast, passing through the landscapes of central Italy before reaching Portofino. An afternoon by the sea gives way to an evening on board, with dinner and live music accompanying the journey through the night. By morning, Venice appears, marking the end of a journey shaped by Italian landscapes, the rhythm of the rails and the changing light.

At Palazzo Donà Giovannelli, Orient Express Venezia offers a different way to experience La Serenissima. This 15th-century palace, reimagined by Architect & Interior Designer Aline Asmar d’Amman, brings together Gothic architecture, original frescoes, Murano glass and contemporary interiors. Its courtyards, gardens and terraces offer a quieter side of Venice, while the city awaits beyond its doors, from the Grand Canal to hidden calli and centuries-old palazzi.

Across the Adriatic

Leaving Venice behind, Orient Express Corinthian follows the Adriatic towards the Croatian coast, where the landscape gradually shifts from the grandeur of Venice to the quieter character of the eastern Adriatic. Rovinj appears along the Istrian coast, with its colourful façades and red-tiled roofs, before the route continues towards Korčula and its clear waters, secluded coves and wooded shores. As the coastline unfolds from the sea, the journey reveals the distinctive beauty of the Adriatic, before reaching Split, where ancient stone meets the deep blue of the sea.
